WIPocalypse SAL September 2018

Hello,

This weekend I stitched on one project for the WIPocalypse Sal.  Helda Hag's Beauty Bag.   I really enjoy working on this piece, its so fun!  Love all the over dyed flosses to make it come together.  I made great progress.  Just the rest of the Vanishing Cream, hair clips and eye shadow pallet left to go!

I enjoy the process of stitching as my bin of started projects will confirm lol.  I have a large tote of finished stitches that I would like to challenge myself to finish finish in 2019.

INSW - September, 2018

It was fun to hermit this weekend.  Now that our busy fun summer has come to a close, the cool weather has me seeking my needle. I started a Prairie Schooler Christmas ornament called Herald Angels from the Christmas Just Cross Stitch Magazine 2003.  The monthly theme for May for the Christmas Ornie SAL was Hark the Herald Angels Sing, so this little piece will fit quite nicely.  I'm pleased with my progress.  Just a wing on the angel and the sparkling gold thread to go.

February INHW

It was a great stitching long weekend.  I used the number generator to pick my wips again.   The winners were  White Star Line by the Sampler Girl and Etagere De Cuisine.  I'm happy to report that I finished the White Star Line bringing my wips down to 19.  There was a lot of stitches in those pots!

WIPocalypse - January 2018

My first WIPocalypse.  There is a button on my side bar that will take you to the WIPocalypse web site that explains this fun event.  The original starting pictures for all these wips are in the tab at the top of the page.

I was able to work on a few of my wips this month.  When I had a few minutes I used the random number generator to pick a wip to work on.  So here are the results!

Namaste - Ink Circles
It's difficult to tell by the before photo but I was able to fill in more of the green.

Shepherd's Purse - Shepherd's Bush
I was able to put in a couple lengths of silk.

Creepy Crawly - Blue Ribbon Designs

Was able to do a little more over 1 stitching.

Dawn of Spring

Did some frogging and restitching.  Also learned something new.  A little bit of hardanger with beads.

Christmas Eve - Prairie Schooler

I did more stitching on the reindeer.

Ann's Sampler Pinkeep - Stacy Nash Primitives

I was happy to have a head on this lady.

Question of the Month - What SAL's are you participating in this year? and if you are participating in the Olympic Stitching Challenge, what challenge are you accepting?
What are your goals?

I am participating in lots of SALS!  I'm nutty like that!!  Some of the SALs are on my side bar.  The ones not listed are the SALS in Stitch Maynia (a facebook group), YOW with Soulful Stitchers (a facebook group) and JCS Stitch Along (facebook group).  They are all so much fun.  The YOW fits perfectly with the WIPocalypse SAL.

I am participating in the Olympic Stitching SAL in Stitch Maynia, however, I would like to challenge myself to pick one of my wips and try to get in at least 50 stitches a day for the Endurance Race.

My Inaugural International Hermit & Stitch Weekend

Was a success!  I am very pleased with the progress I made on my two chosen wips.

I numbered all my wips from 1- 20.  Then I used the number generator to pick.  The two winners were Dawn of Spring and Shepherd's Purse.

First I started of with the f word.  Yes, lots of frogging on the Dawn of Spring and restitching. The next band in the sampler was hem stitching which involved cutting the linen, something I had not done before.  I think that's why I put it aside for so long.  I was unsure how to go about hem stitching.  Victoria Sampler on You Tube to my rescue.  She has a lot of wonderful tutorials. I did the stitching and the cutting.  It wasn't so bad.  It was actually fun.

Progress :)

Next on to Shepherd's Purse.  Got in a few silk threads and am happy to have done that.

I also dug into the bottom of my tickle trunk of stitched pieces and pulled out this little frog.  The designer is Charley Harper.  It has been stitched for ages and just waiting to be put together.  The time came :)  I think he is so cute.

If you would like to join us hermits, please click the button on the side bar.  It will take you to the blog that explains everything.

It is a nice snowy day here, so I will do a little more stitching.

2018 WIPocalypse - The Goal

Hello!  My name is Tamra and I am a stitcher.  I belong to many facebook groups and have joined a few Stitch Alongs for 2018.  My WIPocalypse plans are listed in the above tab.

I want to finish those projects and also keep up to date with the Sew Alongs I have joined.  I am a very relaxed stitcher with lots of wips, stash and a little sewing room to call my own.  This hobby brings me great pleasure, so I base meeting my goals on my happy meter rather than the number meter.

This blog is a journaling place to keep notes on details and progress of my projects.

Thank you for visiting my little blog,

Tamra
